My name is Thomas “TJ” Musto . Born and raised in Chicago and the Western Suburbs. I learned the craft of painting from my father, a master craftsman and one of the early pioneers of decorative concrete, faux finishing, and high-end residential painting in Chicago and the North Shore.

My father’s work brought him into the homes of notable Chicago figures including Michael Jordan, Walter Payton, and Hugh Hefner, just to name a few. I learned by watching his mastery firsthand. Working for your father is never easy, but his relentless attention to detail—what I used to call insanity—shaped me. That standard is what prepared me to carry the torch forward and start my own business.

I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember, with over 20 years of professional experience. My work isn’t just a paycheck. It’s an expression of who I am and a way of honoring a craft passed down from father to son.

Outside of painting, I’m a featured street and fashion photographer. The “Noir” in Noir Painting comes from my love of black-and-white photography. I also have a deep appreciation for design, which led me to travel extensively, studying architecture, style, fashion, and culture. Those experiences influence how I work with color and help me create spaces that feel intentional, authentic, and aligned with my clients’ vision.

I care deeply about my customers, and I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I don’t approach painting as just another job. I value the role it plays in shaping a space, and I take pride in helping bring that vision to life - and no, chat GPT didn’t help me write this. Hope to work with you soon - TJ.
